For my own benefit, I feel I must define both microaggression and privilege. Microaggression: These are brief, everyday exchanges that send denigrating messages to a target group. It doesn’t matter if it is intentional or unintentional, if it is communicated in a hostile, derogatory or negative racial discourtesy that are insults that have a harmful or unpleasant psychological impact towards a person or a group (Sue & Sue, 2015).

Privilege: According to Monahan, privilege is a benefit/advantage that develops only to the exclusive elite. Meaning that the benefits and advantages are part and a portion of the status as elites. It is understood that privilege is a legitimate entitlement of the upper caste by virtue of

birth.

How can the concept of White Privilege be expanded to include gender privilege, class privilege, or heterosexual privilege? White privilege includes gender, class, and heterosexual because there will always be a group of specific people who are considered elite. The elite will always have access to
