Discussion: The Effects of Technology in the Workplace
New technology in mass communication allows for the quick dissemination of information on everything from health and disease prevention to community and political issues. This is changing the way we receive information and providing new opportunities to interact with our communities and the world. In this Discussion, you will examine the changing flow of communication.
To prepare for this Discussion:
· Review the articles assigned this week.
· Identify the change in communication technology that has most altered the way you communicate.
· Consider how these changes influence the ways in which you disseminate and receive information.
· Determine how this technological change affects the workplace.
For this Discussion, choose one thread from the choices listed this week. Each thread is limited to a maximum number of students based on class size. A thread will close if the limit is reached. If a thread is closed to new posters, select from the open threads. You will post both your initial post and your response post in the same thread.
By Day 3
Thread 1: Mobile Devices
· Post a 2- to 3-paragraph assessment of how mobile devices influence or could alter the flow and nature of communication in your workplace. Refer to 2 specific examples from your course reading and record in your assignment information about each source, including author, year, page number, and publication title.
