There are two assignments in this unit.
Assignment 1
Conduct online research to locate two (2) recent cases (one of child abuse and one of elder abuse). In a 3–5 page paper, summarize the cases and identify the forms of abuse involved and the overall effects on the victims.
PLEASE NOTE: This project will require outside research. Use at least two credible sources beyond the text material.) You may consult the Kaplan Online Library, the internet, the textbook, other course material, and any other outside resources in supporting your task, using proper citations in APA style. Discuss how you evaluated the credibility of the resources used.
Directions for Submitting Your Assignment:
Submit your writing Assignment in Word. Save your paper in the following format: Last name First name Assignment. (Example: SmithJohn_Unit7_Assignment). Submit your Assignment to the Dropbox by the end of Unit 7 in the basket titled Unit 7 Assignment 1 Dropbox.
Assignment 2
Children are suffering from a hidden epidemic of child abuse and neglect.
Create a 5–10 slide presentation in PowerPoint® that provides at least three statistical data points that you consider critical to increase society’s awareness about the serious issues related to child abuse. One of the data points should be from your residential state. The others can be national statistics. Include why knowing this information is important.
The statistical data should come from at least three (3) different, credible sources, and cannot be more than 3-years-old.
The presentation should include a title slide and reference slide (in addition to the 5–10 slides of content). The data source, including date must be clearly identified with each statistical data point.
Your slides should have large legible font size and appropriate color use. Consider including other enhancements such as photos, charts, graphs, etc.
Automatic or timed transitions of slides are not required.
Submit your Assignment to the Dropbox by the end of Unit 7 in the basket titled Unit 7 Assignment 2 Dropbox.
