Conventions of Epic Poem
This assignment is your final exam. So take your time, and do well. I am asking you to write an essay (remember what an essay it: introduction, body, conclusion) on how three of the epics fulfill the conventions of the epic poem. Note, don’t just say, for instance, that the Odyssey contains the hero’s journey. Be specific and give example from the literature. What journey did Odysseus take, and how is that journey a fulfillment of the conventions of the genre.I suggest that you first, pick your three works, review them, plan your writing, draft, and type in another document, in Word for instance so that you can go back and make revisions and corrections.
