Kindest Cut? Discussion #1

Please include references

Male circumcision is among the most common surgical procedures performed in the United States, although it is less common in other parts of the world.  The procedure is performed for a variety of reasons including religious practices, hygiene beliefs and health beliefs. For a number of reasons rates are down in the United States from previous decades.

Apart from being painful (at least until recently), for such a common procedure little thought is given to it by many parents of male infants. What are your thoughts? Here are a couple of websites to get the conversation going in this discussion post topic (although feel free to find other sources)
