Report Issue
this is a follow up question from the attached paper

Thanks for your posting here and hope you are having a great week so far! You did a really good job summarizing your client Charles and the struggles he is currently experiencing. You took two different approaches when discussing how the assessment process might work whether you were a Counseling versus Clinical Psychologist. Would you find it easier/more beneficial to be one or the other (based on what you shared above about how they go about gathering ‘data’ and developing a conclusion about diagnosis) to get reimbursed for treatment, or should this aspect not matter? Would be curious about your perception here! And what might you do if the insurance company needed a diagnosis immediately (they usually do if you are submitting to gain approval for treatment)…how might you resolve this issue or go about the treatment process in Charles best interest (in addition to your own since you do need to get paid while upholding ethics of the profession of psychology). As we know from our reading, our perceptions may be influenced by how a client reimburses us for our time/energy/expertise (Kielbasa, Pomerantz, Krohn, & Sullivan, 2004) . Thank you for sharing here and let me know if you have any questions!!!
