There is a real sense of community and healing when people are surrounded by others. Many times in Intensive Outpatient Therapy programs, residential programs and inpatient programs a lot of the work that gets done is in a group setting. Clients often appreciate a sense of not feeling alone with their struggle, some programs that are less traditional and more of a self-growth workshop vs treatment focused develop a bond with one another and remain on contact post the workshop. In traditional treatment centers this is often not encouraged due to limits regarding confidentiality.
