This week is a little different; watch or read the play DEATH OF A SALESMAN by Arthur Miller. It is set in the mid 1940’s and has been re made several times throughout the years. It has a foundation around a salesman who travels and how he is searching to fix his life. Our chapter readings are on adolescent development. You are to make the developmental connections to the movie. You are to discuss the main character of the movie in his search to fix himself and make factual connections to what you have learned about this time period. Your thoughts are to be specific examples from the movie and connect the specific examples to specific factual points on the developmental process which may have had an impact during th adolescent stage to impact him at this point in his life.
You can locate the pdf file within the Course Content tab if you prefer to read it, or you can locate a video of it through YouTube or any other streaming device if you prefer to watch it. There are various movie versions however keep in mind on the average it will run approximately 2 hours.
Post your initial response to this thread with a minimum word count of 300, post your initial response by mid week so as to give classmates opportunity to post. Use factual points and specific examples from your readings. This is not just a summary. You are to connect concepts of adolescent development to the movie and its main character. Be sure to cite specific examples to illustrate your thoughts which must connect to the factual points of adolescent development.
